In The Open: Joe Aston
/"I've already signed up for the 2017 CrossFit Games Open to test myself and support others following the same fitness journey.
While there is certainly a level of competition during The Open, there is also the invaluable sensation of support as you try to nail the best score you could possibly see written on the box's whiteboard or posted on the CrossFit leader board. That support comes in many forms: The judge's yells of "NO REP" and "GOOD REP," fellow competitors unknowingly pacing you or verbally cheering you to continue pushing, and the encouragement of those waiting their turn to attempt a PR in the workout of the week. This sense of community with a single-minded goal of supporting and pushing EVERYONE is what has kept Kim and me coming back to OV CrossFit. The support and enthusiasm is contagious and you want to give as much back as you receive.
No one will ever confuse me with a regional-caliber athlete, but you'll see me at the box knocking out the workouts of the 2017 CrossFit Games Open to show myself what I'm capable of, to see the gains I've made, and to support my OV CrossFit family as they strive to reach their goals and become #betterthanyesterday."
